JOB DESCRIPTION
We are seeking a detail-oriented and results-driven Estimator to support the planning and pricing of construction projects. This role is responsible for reviewing drawings and specifications, preparing cost estimates, and collaborating with project teams to ensure accurate and competitive bids.
Key Responsibilities
Estimating and Pre-Construction:
- Collaborate with project managers and estimators to gather information for accurate estimates
- Prepare detailed cost estimates using tools such as Bluebeam, HeavyBid, Sage, ProEst, and similar software
- Review drawings, specifications, and scopes to identify project requirements and risks
- Perform quantity take-offs and support tender closing
- Obtain and analyze subcontractor and supplier quotations
- Negotiate pricing to align with project budgets
- Assist in preparing and reviewing bid packages
- Maintain organized records of estimates and proposals
Project Coordination and Support:
- Support subcontractor selection based on scope and project requirements
- Assist with awarding contracts and clarifying deliverables
- Review RFIs, shop drawings, and change orders
- Track pricing updates and support owner communication
- Review subcontractor invoices for accuracy
- Maintain strong relationships with subcontractors and suppliers
- Participate in meetings and track action items
- Support project teams with cost reporting and tracking
QUALIFICATIONS
- Degree or diploma in Business, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience
- 3+ years of experience in construction estimating or related role
- Proficiency with estimating software such as Bluebeam, Sage, Procore, ProEst, or Stack
- Strong organizational and planning skills
- Solid understanding of construction methods, materials, and pricing
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
