More About Chrysler Brampton

A 14,000 sq. ft. industrial building addition at the Chrysler plant in Brampton, ON, the Metrology Lab was purpose-built to house three new CMM metrology machines, with structural foundations including newly drilled piers and a reinforced floor slab designed to meet the precision requirements of the equipment. The building structure features clear-span trusses supporting overhead cranes, with a full building envelope and renovations to the adjacent employee services area providing new prep space and office and conference rooms. Mechanical scope covered a new fire protection system, roof drainage, compressed air, city water services and HVAC, with electrical work encompassing power distribution and building lighting throughout. Site work included fire line relocations and a reworked parking area to accommodate the new footprint. J.J.McGuire completed the Metrology Lab as part of a broader working relationship with Chrysler at the Brampton plant, delivering the addition as a joint venture with Roncelli Inc. As co-contractor, J.J.McGuire was responsible for the full scope of construction, spanning structural, mechanical, electrical and site work, to deliver a facility built to the exact standards of an active automotive manufacturing environment.
